The repair tech was moody and abrupt. He scowled when I gave him two tarps to spread on the foyer and kitchen floors to protect the valuable wood floor. Things went downhill from there.
Problem with door was a broken spring, which he replaced. It took him about an hour. Then we went to test the door and it didn't work; it wouldn't rise and it wouldn't close.
He blamed it on the fact that it's a Guardian brand closer, and that it was old. FYI: Guardian are very common and point two; it's only 3 or 4 years old. I printed the manual for the closer that shows how to set UP and DOWN limits and how to do a routine stress test. He would have none of reading a manual and instead he billed be $627 for the spring and labor and LEFT our property.
So, basically we pay Anthony's so-called angels $627 and the door will neither open nor close. Yes, door non-functional with cars in the garage. Plus I have the pleasure of working with a totally surly you-know-what.
Fortunately, as an engineer, I took the trouble to read the available manual and set the UP limit and the DOWN limit and performed the safety stress test with little problem. The door works fine.
Obviously, I would never use this company again.
