I always stop by Beaver Meadows before heading up to the park. They have great bathrooms (heated in the winter), as well as a cute gift shop. The staff helps me make informed decisions regarding my choice of trail, such as length or difficulty. They were particularly helpful during the middle of winter in trying to figure out which trails would be negotiable. I only wish they kept the water line running for their water bottle fill station near the bathroom. It shuts down in the winter, which makes perfect sense, but leaves many without a good place to refill their bottle. The next best bet would be the Estes Park Visitor Center, which has an indoor water fill station.
