I'm only giving it two stars because I liked consulting with Dr. Boyle's associate Kelly Pavelich, PA-C. Unfortunately, she has no idea how much her office charges for procedures. She wanted me to try a preventive test to see if I had genetic markers indicating possible future melanoma development. They'd apply stickers to remove skin samples and send off to a lab. She said if it came back negative, that I could start coming to the office once a year instead of twice a year. She also said that most insurance covers it, but if they don't, it would only cost around $50.
WELL. My results came back negative. So that's good. But she still wants to see me twice a year and won't provide me with a 12-mo prescription of my medication like she used to, which would force me to come in again in 3 months instead of 6 or 12 months. I also received a bill from the lab for $2400. Luckily insurance covered all but $100 of it. But then I got another bill from Boyle's office claiming that I had a full-on biopsy performed and owed them $169 that wasn't covered by insurance. So for this diagnostic test I was on the hook for $269. That's insane. I'm not going back to this office ever again. I'll find someone else so I don't have to risk having an even higher bill next time I go in.
