The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake

Using a Throw-away profile to preserve my identity but I had to leave a review. BEWARE OF THIS REHAB FACILITY! I checked in there last summer to resolve some substance abuse issues I was having and heard good things. Upon checking in I was reassured that my insurance plan was in-network and once I met my deductible my insurance would cover the rest. So I gave them a check and in I went for 33 days. When I checked out they stated I didn't owe any extra money and that everything was clear and fine. 5 months later I get a bill in the mail for $7000 for my stay! I called the parent company and they said I was out-of-network the whole time and so therefore I am on the hook for the remaining $7000 that insurance didn't cover. THIS WAS NOT WHAT THEY ASSURED ME WHEN I CHECKED IN. As you do not have a phone or computer access while in treatment there is no way to verify this yourself. I then tried to call the facility directly for 4 weeks leaving more than 8 voicemails with the financial department when finally someone got back to me saying there was nothing they could do. If you do choose this facility make sure to have your insurance coverage and benefits from them IN WRITING before you check in and ask for financial updates each week while you are in treatment or they will pull a fast one. Very sad that they take advantage of people in vulnerable positions.
